Back to the grind!!!!!!!

Well it's finally happened. It's the last week of August and that whole month signifies 2 major things. The first being my birthday on the 17th , the most important day of the month (did I forget to mention that?). Yeah, for all those who didn't know, (how could you not know??) I'm finally reached the milestone age of 21 two weeks ago. It was pretty fun despite the fact that I was in band camp all day, but me, my cousin, and some friends went to the ESPN zone later on, which ended up being pretty wild. Anyways that's another topic.................................

The second thing that August signifies is much more depressing. I'm talking about the start of school people! Yes SCHOOL. Am I the only person who feels like the summer went by entirely too fast???? I feel like I only had about a week break instead of 2 and a half months. I've been in class for 3 days and already teachers are starting to pile work on. However, all this is made bearable because I know that I'll be graduating in 9 months!!!!! And that, ladies and gentlemen, is all there is to know.

Boogeyman - How not to make a horror movie

So i'm channel surfing the other day, and by absolutly terrible luck come across this sad excuse for a horror movie called Boogeyman. Out of idle curiousity (and because there was nothing else on) I ended up watching it. This is a warning to everybody out there - this movie is extremely bad.

This so-called "horror" movie would not scare anybody, except maybe 6 - 10 year olds. The movie started with this boy in his bedroom at night (of course, who didn't see that coming?) and his father, who maybe gets abducted by this creature in his closet. I say "maybe" because the sequences are so disjointed that you really can't tell what's happening.

Fast forward about 15 years later. The boy is now a young adult, who is deathly afraid of doors, and has never dealt with the incident that we viewed a few minutes ago. Long story short - his mother appears in a vision to him shortly before she dies and tells him to go to his childhood house, where he must confront his fears.

The scenes with the boogeyman are laughable because you never got to actually see him until the end. And even there, the sequences are filmed so fast that really, you only get to see little snippets of him here and there. The conclusion was so predictable that it almost sad, and what was supposed to be the climatic confrontation was ruined due to the CGI effects that came off as cheap.

So that's it. A piss poor excuse for a horror movie. The only people I can think of that might actually be scared by this movie are little kids under 9. That's about it

Back!!!

OK here's the thing: I know its been a while since I posted on this blog, but what can I say? It's been a busy summer so far, and it's not over yet!!!!! (no matter what those "back to school" ads at stores say)

Mission Impossible 3

So yesterday I was dragged to the movies by a friend, despite the fact that I had practically no gas in my car and more importantly, no money. Anyways, I wanted to see Silent Hill, but since my friend is wimpy and can't seemed to stomach scary movies (not to mention she was paying for me), we ended up seeing Mission Impossible 3, which I had absolutly no interest in.

What can I say.............If you like to see things blown up, and lots of fast action sequences without much substance, than this is the movie for you. Now I like action movies just as the next person, but this film just didn't cut it for me. And the ending was so unrealistic. I didn't know you bring someone back to life by POUNDING ON THEIR CHEST. Anyways, that's my mini-review. If you don't agree, TOO BAD!

I manged to finish all 8 pages by monday morning. That's gotta be some kinda record. I always tell people: I work best under pressure.

And the word of the day today is.......stress!

Sometimes I swear that my proffesors conspire together to drive me insane. Like they meet at starbucks on some saturday afternoon and say to each other: "how can we make Evan suffer the most?". Observe: a 6 page paper and 2 presentations all due on the same day (Monday). Are these people trying to kill me?! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go back and try to dig myself out from underneath this mountain of crap.

Arcos????

Even as I'm writing this Chris (who by the way, has never even owned any type of mp3 player until 4 days ago) is trying to convince me that his unknown brand of mp3 player called an "Arcos" (if I even spelled that right) is better than the ipod. Clearly, CLEARLY, the ipod is superior. Period. And I'm not just saying that because I own one. Foolish, foolish Chris...........when will he learn that he'll never win an arguement with me?
